Touring Queensland Fund round 4 and 5 recipients

For Round 4 of the Touring Queensland Fund, two applications were approved to receive total project funding of $122,577.

Touring Queensland Fund (TQF) round 4 successful recipients:

  • Counterpilot - $90,577 to deliver Counterpilot’s Regional Tour 2024/25 and transmedia theatre to regional centres to broaden engagement with experimental arts, invite local communities and new audiences to interact with non-traditional theatre in non-traditional spaces and innovate Queensland touring by establishing a repertoire touring model.
  • Musica Viva Australia - $32,000 for the Musica Viva Australia Touring Program which will deliver tours of two productions to primary schools in the Central Queensland, Southwest and Darling Downs regions. The tour of Wyniss explores Torres Strait traditional song and dance and Da Vinci's Apprentice combines music and storytelling to immerse students in the world of Roberta, a talented girl living in 16th-century Italy who dreams of becoming an apprentice to the greatest inventor of all time, Leonardo da Vinci. Teachers will have access to curriculum-aligned teaching resources, online professional development webinars and an in-person professional development session in Rockhampton to support students’ learning experiences.

 

For Round 5 of the Touring Queensland Fund, nine applications were approved to receive total project funding of $1,189,663.

Touring Queensland Fund (TQF) round 5 successful recipients:

  • Melissa Western - $81,127 to help deliver a 2025 touring program, including touring the Western Queensland circuit with new production Keno Noir, further touring of Dirty Fame Flash Candles Club, and creation and pilot tour of new cabaret Sip, Sparkle, Skull.
  • Red Chair - $299,736 to help grow the company’s regional touring circuit and present 16 independent Queensland music productions to 11 communities across the Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Redlands, Somerset, Gladstone, Bribie Island, Agnes Water and Brisbane.
  • Metro Arts (auspice organisation) - $100,000 to support THAT Production Company to tour their award-winning production Every Brilliant Thing, implementing a bespoke touring model that combines commitment from presenting partners and community-based organisations.
  • Flying Arts Alliance Inc - $99,924 to support a touring exhibition that showcases Queensland Regional Art Award artists from across regional Queensland together with accompanying workshops by skilled professionals.
  • Queensland Youth Orchestras - $28,910 to support principal players from QYO's Wind Symphony ensemble to tour to the Western and Central Downs and the South Burnett regions, offering workshops and concerts in schools and with community groups. The full Wind Symphony (55 players) will tour to Warwick and Kingaroy to offer free community concerts.
  • The CrackUp Sisters - $147,146 to support the introduction of new artists to their established regional and remote touring circuits, bringing tales to life through vibrant characters and comedy, enhanced by Australian knockabout acrobatics, choreographed whip cracking, circus acts, stunts, dance, puppetry, and the art of spinning a good yarn.
  • The Little Red Company - $299,940 to support delivery of the 2025 tour Sisters Are Doing for Themselves to regional venues, showcasing uplifting music and heartfelt true stories from a culturally diverse all-female cast and a choir from each local community, returning to the same venues in 2026 with a follow-up production.
  • Shock Therapy Arts Ltd - $100,000 to support touring of their 2025 education program – which will present seven Australian performance works into schools across Queensland – and touring of their newest play, Crossing the Divide.
  • Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra - $32,880 to support touring of unique chamber music for historical instruments to Gympie, Maryborough and Bundaberg, offering concerts, education, engagement and workshops to local students, educators and community.
