Funding from the Projects and Programs Fund, supported the publication and promotion of Queensland writers and their work in Australian Book Review during 2014.

Fifteen Queensland writers were published in the magazine during the year. Australian Book Review (ABR) aims to foster the creation, publication and promotion of new Queensland writing through the publication of Queensland writers in ABR, Australia’s leading literary review.

Outcomes

  • Fifteen Queenland writers were published in the magazine during the year. Several were published more than once, representing a total of twently-three articles. Queensland writers were published in most issues, representing consistent coverage for Queensland writers in ABR. 
  • Three Queensland writers published were new to the magazine and five of those published during the year were under thirty-five. This gave new and younger writers experience of writing for and being published in a national magazine and the exposure to a critical audience.
