As part of the 2015-16 Budget, the Queensland Government announced steps towards restoring arts funding with a particular focus on the small to medium sector. This commitment includes establishment of the new Queensland Arts Showcase funding program, creating employment and training opportunities for Queensland based artists and arts workers and supporting collaborations that provide quality arts and cultural experiences.
Draft guidelines for the Queensland Arts Showcase are now available on the Arts Queensland website and we are seeking your feedback before they are finalised in mid-August.
The Queensland Arts Showcase will be a rolling fund encompassing three streams:
Total funding for Queensland Arts Showcase is $11.8 million over four years, made up of a new allocation of $5.1 million as well as existing funds available under the Projects and Programs Fund.
The Projects and Programs Fund will continue to receive applications in its current form until 31 August 2015. Applications processed after this time will be automatically rolled into the Arts Impact stream of the Queensland Arts Showcase.
The draft guidelines provide further detail on program objectives, funding levels under each stream, eligibility, assessment criteria and application processes.
