Arts Queensland Resources Update – issue 3 of 2015

Jetstar’s Flying Start Programme
Jetstar’s Flying Start Programme invites community groups and organisations across Australia to apply for a grant for $30,000, made up of $15,000 cash and $15,000 worth of travel with Jetstar, to fund a project that will enrich the lives of people in their local community. Applications from Queensland and the Northern Territory are now being accepted and closing 31 March 2015.

Australia Council – Keeping Culture Strong
The Australia Council for the Arts invites you to a discussion session for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and cultural leaders to talk about the futures for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts. Brisbane session 20 February 2015 at Meeting Room 1 B, State Library Stanley Place, South Bank Brisbane.

Australia Council – International Activity Survey
The Australia Council for the Arts is conducting this survey to understand how Australian artists and arts organisations engage internationally. It will use the survey results to inform our strategy for supporting international arts activity. The survey is open to all Australian artists and arts organisations, whether or not you have done international arts activities in the past. The survey should only take about 15 minutes to complete. Your responses are confidential and anonymous. The survey is open to 11 February 2015.

Australia Council grants 

The Australia Council 2015 grants programs first round closes on 3 March 2015 and potential applicants are encouraged to contact Australia Council now to seek guidance on formulating your proposal. The funding categories are:

  •  Development Grants for Individuals and Groups – $5,000 – $25,000
  •  Arts Projects for Individuals and Groups – $10,000 – $50,000
  •  Arts Projects – Organisations – $10,000 to $150,000
  •  Six Year Funding – Organisations

 The Artists with Disability Funding program is also currently open closing 3 March 2015.
 
 
Arts for All Queenslanders Strategy 

New posts include:

  • Jessica White received funding towards researching and writing, Rosa’s Ghosts 
  • Michelle Ryan shares her inspiring story of dancing despite suffering from Multiple Sclerosis 
  • To coincide with the public consultation of the draft Queensland Education Accord, State Library of Queensland (SLQ) Asia Pacific Design Library (APDL) partnered with Queensland Government G20 Cultural Celebrations Program and Kelvin Grove State College (KGSC), to host the Design Minds 2 Day City Workshop + Exhibition.
  •  2015 was announced as the International Year of Evaluation at the Third International Conference on National Evaluation Capacities
