Arts Queensland Resources Update – issue 2 of 2015

QAGOMA – Melville Haysom Memorial Art Scholarship

The Melville Haysom Memorial Art Scholarship, administered by the Gallery, is a scholarship to assist young artists. Designed to promote, encourage and advance the development of visual arts in Queensland, the scholarship is offered to artists aged 25 years or under. The scholarship offers $5000 towards materials and expenses for the preparation of work for a specific project. Applications close 31 March 2015.

 

Queensland Community Foundation

The General Fund Grant Program 2015 is now open closing on 25 February 2015 for grants up to $30,000. The General Fund was established to apply the income for charitable purposes. A key objective of the General Fund grants program is to assist organisations improve their capacity to provide community service initiatives commensurate with the needs of the community in which they operate. The aim of the 2014-15 funding round is to support organisations impacted by federal and state government funding reforms. To support this aim, organisations in Queensland are invited to submit an Expression of Interest for funding to deliver initiatives that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of services in being more responsive to client needs and contend with contestability.

 

Creative Partnerships Australia – Masterclass with John Kieffer

Creative Partnerships Australia presents a series of masterclasses led by UK-based arts management and funding expert John Kieffer. John will challenge traditional assumptions about the sustainability, resilience and relevance of the arts, explore new forms of partnerships and ask us to think differently about the future role and funding of the arts. Brisbane workshop scheduled for 20 March 2015.

 

Australia Council – International Activity Survey

The Australia Council for the Arts is conducting this survey to understand how Australian artists and arts organisations engage internationally. It will use the survey results to inform our strategy for supporting international arts activity. The survey is open to all Australian artists and arts organisations, whether or not you have done international arts activities in the past. The survey should only take about 15 minutes to complete. Your responses are confidential and anonymous. The survey is open to 9 February 2015.

 

Australia Council grants

For information on the 2015 grants programs is available at the Australia Council . The first round closes on 3 March 2015 and potential applicants are encouraged to contact Australia Council now to seek guidance on formulating your proposal. The funding categories are:

  • Development Grants for Individuals and Groups – $5,000 – $25,000
  • Arts Projects for Individuals and Groups – $10,000 – $50,000
  • Arts Projects – Organisations – $10,000 to $150,000
  • Six Year Funding – Organisations

 

The Artists with Disability Funding program is also currently open closing 3 March 2015.
