Queensland Literary Awards 2014
Nominations now open for 2014 Queensland Literary Awards. Ten award categories provide opportunities for both published and emerging writers, as well as four fellowships supporting new works by Queensland writers. Entries close 19 September 2014. BoardConnect speed mentoring event
Speed Mentoring for board members will be an opportunity for non-profit board members to spend time with experienced board members to discuss your own development as a board member or Chair, and how to deal with issues and situations that occur in the boardroom. The free event is hosted by the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Tuesday 30 September, 8.00 – 10.00am. Registration is essential.
Brisbane City Council – grants, competition and awards information sessions
The Brisbane City Council is running information sessions on 15 September 2014 at the Brisbane Square Library on its programs: Creative Brisbane Producers Forum (12:30 to 1:30 pm), Innovation Award 2015 Launch (1:30 to 2:00 pm), Arts and History Grants Information Session (2 to 3 pm or 5:30 to 6:30 pm), Creative people: Council process (3:30 to 4:30 pm) and Upcycling in arts practice and the Recycling Art Competition (4:30 to 5pm). The Coca-Cola Australia Foundation
Community Grants are one-off grants up to $10,000. The program you are seeking funding for must target disadvantage young people aged between 12 and 25 years. The Foundation does not fund programs outside this age range. Applications for the next round close on 19 September 2014.
