Queensland Plan

The recently launched Queensland Plan sets out Queenslanders’ vision for Queensland the next 30 years. All sectors and organisations are encouraged to consider the Queensland Plan and identify how they can ‘plug into’ this strategic framework. http://queenslandplan.qld.gov.au/index.aspx

 

Foundation for Regional and Rural Renewal – Small Grants for Rural Communities

Grants up to $5,000 are available for projects and activities that offer clear public benefit for communities in rural, regional or remote Australia. Priority is given to communities of 10,000 or fewer.  Round 26 closes on 26 September 2014. 

 

Australian Theatre Forum (ATF) January 2015
Expressions of Interest are sought from independent artists and producers who would like to attend the ATF in Sydney, January 2015. EOIs close at 5pm on Monday 18th August 2014. (General registrations will open in October). 

 

Gambling Community Benefit Fund

The next round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund closes on 31 August 2014. The former casino funds have now been amalgamated into this fund which distributes approximately $50 million each year. Applications of up to $35,000 can be made by not-for-profit organisations. Phonographic Performance Company of Australia Limited (PPCA) – Performers’ Trust Foundation

The PPCA Performers’ Trust Foundation provides grants to promote and encourage music and the performing arts. The grants provided are non-recurring and are usually around $2,500 for an individual and $5,000 for a group or organisation.

Arts for All Queenslanders Strategy

New posts include:

  • The 2013 Grant McLennan Fellowship winner Seja Vogel talks about her experience of song writing in New York  
  •  Rebecca Lamoin who was a fellow in Michael Kaiser’s DeVos Institute of Arts Management international program over three Washington summers talks about her experiences
  • A renewed Protocol between Queensland State and Local Governments outlines shared values for arts and culture in Queensland communities  
  • Debase productions – artistic returns in the creative development of new work – The Furze Family Variety Hour and now economic returns for the company as they prepare to tour this new work.  Debase says, “The work presented at the creative development showing demonstrated that the show concept, design, themes and performance style are theatrically effective and pleasing to audiences.”
  • Annie Lee – artistic returns in the creative development of new cabaret work Lighthouse Berlin.  Annie says, “I’ve also learned how important it is to have a clear vision of what you want to achieve. The goal posts are set and it is all systems go to see it manifest.”
