The Projects and Programs Fund is now open and closing on 1 August 2014 for projects and programs occurring in 2015. Applications for up to $60,000 can be made for projects or programs of activities by an individual, organisation or collective investing in vibrant arts and cultural experiences for Queenslanders.
The Valuing Diversity Grants Program offers grants to assist eligible organisations to deliver events that promote positive community relations, and strengthen Queenslanders’ understanding of cultural diversity and its benefits. Applications open in July every year for events being held in the following year.
With funding increasingly difficult to secure, the concept of teaming up with other organisations is being considered by many non-profits. This session will identify some of the drivers for approaching an alliance or collaboration, models to structure arrangements – including for possible mergers – and what might be needed to ensure the initiative is a success. To be held Monday 14 July 2014 3 pm to 4 pm. Free for Queensland arts organisations with an annual turnover of <$500,000 (subsidised by Arts Queensland), and $75+GST for other arts organisations.
Specialising in the development of diversity and access, Jo Verrent will be speaking in Brisbane. Jo is a UK artist, consultant and producer with disability who is the cofounder of Sync, a training program that focuses on the interplay between leadership and disability that provides a fresh perspective and challenges deep seated thinking about leadership. Please RSVP below by Friday 28 June 2014.
Date and time: Monday 7 July, 5:30-7:00pm
Venue: Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Cnr Grey and Melbourne Streets, South Bank
RSVP: events@australiacouncil.gov.au
