Sidney Myer Fund & The Myer Foundation - Capacity Building Stream

The Capacity Building Stream seeks to strengthen and grow the independent arts and cultural sector in Australia by granting money to ensembles/collectives/groups and organisations that are highly connected within their sector, and producing excellent work. Grants will be made between $20,000 and $50,000, over two financial years, to support the recipients’ core activities and capacity building initiatives. In 2016, applications are open to Northern Territory and Queensland applicants only. Applications open 7 March and close 10 April 2016.

 

Tourism and Events Queensland – Queensland Destination Events Program

The Queensland Destination Events Program (QDEP), formerly the Regional Development Program, seeks to leverage the crucial link between events and the destinations in which they are staged, extending the flow of the economic, marketing and social benefits of events throughout metropolitan and regional Queensland. Applications for the current round close 16 March 2016. The QDEP offers two funding options for regional events:
 

  • Destination Event funding – single year funding for developing events seeking growth ($10,000 - $25,000 per year)
  • Significant Event funding – single year or up to three years of funding for events that can demonstrate a strong track record of growth or growth potential ($25,000 - $100,000 per year).

Federal Government – Regional Arts Fund

The Regional Arts Fund is a Federal Government initiative that supports sustainable, community-based cultural development in regional, remote and isolated areas of Australia. In Queensland, the Regional Arts Fund (RAF) is managed by Artslink Queensland and delivered in two grant categories – The Community Projects Grants and the Regional Quick Response Grants (RQRG) Programs. Applications for round one of the Community Project Grants close 15 March 2016.

 

Arts Queensland – Organisations Fund (2017-2020) Expressions of interest (EOI) now open

The Organisations Fund provides multi-year funding to contribute to the core operations of small to medium organisations in delivering arts and cultural activities that generate public value to Queensland.

EOI’s are now open for the Organisations Fund 2017 – 2020, and will close at 2pm, 11 March 2016. Arts Queensland, through our Arts Acumen initiative, has a range of tools and templates available to support funding applications.

Ministry for the Arts – Festivals Australia

Festivals Australia will fund high quality arts or cultural heritage projects that participants and audiences can engage with, through activities such as a parade, performance, workshop, installation or exhibition. Projects must be a single discrete activity, not a range of unrelated activities across a festival program. Applications for the next round close on 15 March 2016.

 

Ministry for the Arts - Catalyst

Catalyst is the Australian Government's new funding program for the arts. It will invest $12 million each year in innovative projects and initiatives from arts and cultural organisations. Projects by, or that involve, small to medium organisations will be given priority. The fund may also support some gallery, library, archive, museum, arts education and infrastructure projects and local governments are eligible to apply. Applications can be made at any time.

 

Australia Council for the Arts – Contemporary Touring initiative

The Contemporary Touring Initiative, as part of the Visual Arts and Craft Strategy supports significant exhibitions of work by living contemporary visual artists and craft practitioners that reach and engage national audiences, and extend into regional communities. The grant provides up to three years of funding for the development and/or national touring of nationally significant contemporary visual arts and craft exhibitions. Applications close 1 April 2016.

 

Australia Council for the Arts – grants and residencies

The next round of Development Grants for Individuals and Groups, Arts Projects for Individuals and Groups and Arts Projects for Organisations close 7 June 2016.
