Arts Queensland Resource Update - Issue 7 of 2015

Arts Queensland – Individuals Fund

The Individuals Fund is for individual artists and cultural workers (emerging and established) to participate in transformational professional and career development opportunities. Applications are now open, closing 27 April 2015 for activities occurring after 6 July 2015 for funding of up to $10,000.

Australian Government – Regional Arts Development Fellowships

The Regional Arts Development Fellowships will be granted to five individual artists or arts workers for activities that have a focus on professional and creative development. They will support regional artists and arts workers to develop their professional practice, promote the work of regional artists nationally and internationally and deliver benefits to communities. Applications close 17 April 2015.

Creative Partnerships Australia – Australian Cultural Fund

The Australian Cultural Fund (ACF) is a collective funding platform for Australian artists. The fund was established in 2003 to encourage donations to the arts, and is managed by Creative Partnerships Australia. Through the ACF, artists upload their project and invite art lovers and supporters to donate to the projects they care about the most. Unlike other all-or-nothing crowdfunding platforms, ACF donors commit rather than pledge funds. While artists set a funding goal, if it is not met at the end of the campaign all donations are still taken into account (minus a 5% service charge). Donations over $2 are tax deductible through the ACF.

Council for the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences

The Council for the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CHASS), a non-profit organisation that works to support the arts industry, humanities sector and social sciences sector. In 2015, two prizes are sponsored by Routledge ($3,500 each): one for a non-fiction book (e-books are acceptable) that enriches Australian cultural and intellectual life, the second for an exceptional artistic performance, exhibition, film, television show, play, composition or practical contribution to arts policy. Submissions close 1 June 2015.

Australia Post – Our Neighbourhood Community Grants

Australia Post provides grants of up to $10,000 for projects that will help to build healthier, more vibrant and more inclusive communities across Australia. The focus areas for 2015 are Digital Inclusion, Employment Pathways, Community Inclusion and Disaster Readiness. Applications close 2 April 2015.
