Case study: Empire Theatre Projects Company

In 2014, Empire Theatre Projects Company in Toowoomba employed a Youth and Community Engagement Facilitator with support from the Projects and Programs Fund. Activities included an ensemble training program for young artists, creation of new theatre work in collaboration with the health sector, engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and new migrant communities, and expanded reach into southern Queensland.

The case study documents some of the outcomes of this work, including new performance and touring opportunities for young people, and discusses key learnings about project management, the challenges of community engagement and the importance of demand driven practice.
